Barberino di Mugello 2 km from the farmhouse of Corzano

It ‘s the most east town of the Mugello, and has always been an important crossroads, thanks to the connection to Emilia Romagna through the Futa pass, and south to Croci pass from which we go down to Calenzano and the plain of Florence; this is why has experienced over times at different periods of development. The main monuments are: the Praetorian Palace, the lodges Medici, and several churches such as the Abbey of S. Maria a Vigesimo, the church of San Michele in Monteccoli, the church of San Giovanni in Petroio, the villa of the Masks, and do not miss to visit the castle of Cafaggiolo at 11 km; built by the Medici family, located downstream of the dam of Bilancino lake.

In its territory there is the exit of the motorway A1, which connects the Mugello to the italian motorway network.

The Lake Bilancino 4 km

is an aritificial basin, opened at the end of the last century, built to reduce the risk of flooding and to meet the water needs of the Florentine plain. It has an area of 5 square kilometers, and also produce electricity. The panoramic road with the provincial road makes a ring of about 12 km. From there the view of the lake surrounded by hills is very beautiful. During summer on the lake shores  bathing establishments are availables as well as sports activities, such as: sailing, canoeing and surfing.
